My good movies

For me a good movie is the one I don't just watch, but feel, get myself involved. Unknowingly, unintentionally, effortlessly with the drama, situations, locations, people, performances, characters, music, sound, effects, cinematography, etc. And beyond this is the power, order to set me to sit and be part of it, where I cry for happy and unhappy moments. It touches the heart and I don't remain me – I forget myself.

I cannot separate these movies from myself. They are the sculpture of the script and its emotions are not frozen, but alive.

When I see some foreign language movies, I enjoy the geography, nature of the country, its landscape, culture, customs, lifestyle, people, etc. At the same time I think – Where is that place and what must be happening there NOW? This is the kind of bond I have with movies I like. And here are a few of them:

  • Children of Heaven (Iran)
  • The Weeping Camel (Mongolia)
  • The Cave of a Yellow Dog (Mongolia)
  • The Kite Runner (Afganistan)
  • Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (English, India)
  • Chandani (Hindi, India)
  • A Beautiful Mind (U.S.A.)
  • Umbartha (Marathi, India)
  • Metro (Hindi, India)
  • The Phone Booth (U.S.A.)
  • Meet Joe Black (U.S.A.)

I am a very poorly organized person concerning the collection, that's why my storage is not proper. CD-s and DVD-s just lie here and there. So, it is very hard for me to have a big good collection. I just don't pay attention to keep my movies properly or somebody borrows them and never returns back.
This is how things are with me and my good movies….
